About Taxi Sales

Taxi Sales is an independent, informational guide to the business of buying and selling licensed taxis and minibuses in the UK. It exists to answer the practical questions that surround a taxi purchase or sale — the vehicles, the licensing, the checks and the costs — in plain English and without a sales pitch.

What We Cover

The site is organised around the real decisions in the trade. There are step-by-step guides to buying and selling, a plain-language explanation of licensing, a breakdown of the different types of licensed taxi, a used-vehicle inspection checklist, and practical notes on finance and insurance, spares, signage and export.

What We Are Not

Taxi Sales is a reference site, not a marketplace. We do not sell vehicles, list vehicles for sale, take adverts, arrange finance or broker deals, and nothing here is a live listing. When you are ready to actually buy or sell, you will do that through a licensed dealer, an established classified platform, or a private sale — and our job is simply to help you do it well. Nothing on this site is legal, financial or licensing advice; for anything that affects your licence, your local authority has the final word.

Why an Independent Guide?

The taxi trade rewards knowledge. A buyer who understands plates, condition and running costs makes better decisions than one who does not, and a seller who presents a vehicle honestly sells it faster and more fairly. Independent, vendor-neutral information — with no vehicle to push and no commission to earn — is the most useful kind. That is the whole purpose of this site.
